Ive been having some fun creating some Abstract Impressionistic pieces. It is different than what I am normally used to creating, but I've been having a lot of fun creating these. I have them posted for sale on Fine Art America where you can choose your size and print, canvas, cell phone case, etc.

I had to work up a fictitious poster for a school assignment. I normally do wildlife or childrens art, but it can be essential to show your versatility in many venues. So, here are my poster skills. No jokes needed on the subject..maybe my hot steamy novel will be written in time for this signing next year =).

You get up to do your daily tasks…like every day. Far more important than those that consume my days. The earth turns, and turns over, buds, grows, breaths, feeds on your daily walkings. My piece is dying, lonely, afraid, hurt, wandering aimlessly in the winds of time just wanting to breath, bud, grow, turn over, and become from your daily walkings.

Some items will be available with this design in my cafe press shop www.cafepress.com/thepencilbarnartshop before long if anyone is interested. I will post the stages of the pencil work in a seperate post.

I've been working the past couple of days on an entry into the amazing James Gurney's online contest he is running. I've no grand dreams of winning this one (although how great would that be) but really enjoyed doing this picture and knowing that every drawing but enhances your ability. As an artist you never stop growing.

This is a subject very dear to me. I moved from the sidewalks of Washington DC when very young to a farm in Shelby County KY. It was the greatest thing that ever happened to me. It was love at first step on the place. I was and am a HUGE animal lover. I would wake before school to go watch and try to assist in milking the cows, and throwing feed to the pigs. I would throw leftovers over the fence to the chickens after dinner, loved riding on the back of the mule pulled plow to plant corn, mad...

Please don't forget that before this class, I had not really painted traditionally. I am a pencil and digital artist, so this was a brand new experience for me. I really did enjoy this class. It was very therapeutic at times. I really enjoyed the feel of laying down the color in acrylics and watching my pieces grow from the beginning of class to the end of the semester. I am looking forward to some more future practice in this medium and furthering my artistic growth.
